Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is best described as a talking therapy which focuses on how our thoughts
affect our feelings and behaviour. It addesses core beliefs on how we view ourselves, others and the wider world
and how this impacts on our lives and relationships with others.
CBT is one of the most researched and evidenced based therapies and is recommended by the NHS for many common conditions that affect mental health and wellbeing.
- Conditions include:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Panic Attacks
- Phobias
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Eating Disorders
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Issues around Self-Esteem & Self Worth.
- Chronic Pain
In my work with clients the focus is to provide tools & techniques to manage present difficulties and to provide resources that can be used throughout life. My use of Hypnotherapy is secondary to achieving this and complements the use of CBT in providing relaxation and visualisation techniques that can help interrupt the pattern of unhelpful thoughts and beliefs.
